Every dog that comes into Coming Back Home Rescue has an opportunity to have a "job". It's our way of bonding with our rescues and giving them a way to shine. Our Pack will always change from time to time as new dogs come in and older residents get adopted out. Were these dogs bred to do the jobs they are tasked to do? Probably not. But that doesn't stop them from trying. Sometimes a dog just needs a purpose. Maybe they can help you out at your home or business! Or... you can retire them. 💕

BETSY: Our "substitute teacher" when it comes to teaching some manners to our new guests who need to learn the routine. Betsy does well teaching obedience towards other dogs and works under our Founder, Heather. Betsy is her loyal companion that doesn't let dogs step out of line. She typically handles puppies or submissive dogs who just need a little guidance. Just don't make her jealous - she's a Diva.

OTTIE: Listen, I know it sounds bad. I mean, who calls their dog a "royal pain"? Don't give me that. There's a handful out there. We love Ottie. We also tried adopted out Ottie for over a year and we couldn't understand how a great dog just wasn't going anywhere. Unfortunately, for us... He got very comfortable here. Too comfortable. Ottie will tell you we tried dumping him somewhere horrible and made him find his own way back. That just isn't true. Ottie was sent to a Foster to Adopt home in July - which, they were very close by to our foster base. An hour later, we were notified he escaped and was on the loose. We were not shocked as this guy had a history of escaping. What we didn't expect was Ottie to come running DIRECTLY back to CBHR and beating on our door to be let back in. Smart, and a great dog - but, it turns out he's impossible to get rid of. So, now he stays here and helps manage some playgroups. Yay us... We love you Ottie.
We are on the search for dedicated Staff
members at Coming Back Home Rescue - the human kind, of course! Our organization doesn't follow the traditional path of most rescue organizations. There are no "set schedules" and there is no facility. We are a group of neighbors, friends and family that come together to develop plans for each day that goes by. If you can't help out that day - don't sweat it!
Perhaps you're really good at something. Maybe taking photos or videos. Talking to dogs. Handling events and/or fundraisers. Educating people or doing interviews. Whatever it is you are good at, email us and let us know!

Keep in mind, CBHR has a strict "No Drama" Policy. So, we are definitely looking for crazy people - but not so much the dramatic ones. We teach you any skills you might need when handling dogs so don't worry if you don't know a lot about them. We'll help you out!
